First Visit :: Chiropractic
The main purpose of our first visit together will be getting an understanding of your problem or health goals and determining if and how chiropractic care can help. Dr. Davis will take a thorough health history and perform an examination to determine if spinal subluxations (misalignments) are present that may be contributing to part or all of your problems. Radiographs are often taken and studied thoroughly before adjustments are rendered to the spine.
Insurance benefits and/or fees are discussed in advance for your convenience. The appointment time you are given will provide ample time to complete necessary paperwork.
First Visit :: Massage
We ask that you arrive approximately 10-15 minutes early for your first massage appointment at Davis Chiropractic Center. You will be asked to complete our Massage Client Intake Form, which gives our massage therapists your medical history and current areas of concern.
Good communication is very important. Before the session, the therapist might ask the reasons you are getting a massage, lifestyle and stress level, and whether there is any specific need you want addressed during the massage. First and foremost, the massage therapist needs to make sure there aren’t any conditions present that rule out having a massage due to any health risk. Second, the therapist needs to know what your needs are regarding the massage and be sure both of you are clear about what your expectations and goals are for the session. Third, the information you provide helps the massage therapist determine what techniques to use and how to structure the session.
You will be asked to remove your clothing. You should take off only as much as you are comfortable removing. A sheet and blanket are provided for draping during the massage. The therapist will uncover only the part of the body being massaged, insuring that modesty is respected at all times.
During the massage session, report any discomfort, whether it is from the massage or due to any problems or distractions related to the environment, such as room temperature, music volume, etc. Feel free to give feedback to the therapist regarding the massage, regarding amount of pressure, speed of movement, etc.
Except in the case of an emergency, less than 24-hour notice to cancel an appointment may result in a charge.
